Work / Case study
Gaia AI
Put the forest manager at the top of the page.
Gaia AI gives foresters a backpack and an app that capture tree data as they walk a traditional cruise, then turns it into inventory data for forest managers. Its website described the tool in general terms and said little to the people who buy it.

The problem
A capable tool with a vague front door.
Gaia’s buyers manage forests for a living.
They include timber investors, consulting foresters, carbon project developers and government land managers. Their inventories depend on slow manual work, and good foresters are harder to find each year.
The old site opened on “Better Data, Better Managed Forests” and a three-step process that began with going on a hike. It spoke about forests in general and left each buyer to find their own reason to care.
The product solved a hard, specific problem. The site described it in soft, general terms.
The shift
Simplify forest management with modern data.
We wrote the page as a direct conversation with the people who manage forests. It opens on the job they need done, then shows who Gaia helps, how the process works and why the data matters.
The decisions
Six choices from one workshop.
A two-hour design review with Gaia’s team on 4th February 2025 settled the direction. The team debated the headline hard. Some wanted “Better Data, Better Forests”, and others wanted the simpler promise. Both lines stayed. The promise leads the page, and the original line opens the benefits.
- 01Speak to customers first. Investors can follow.
- 02Lead with timber and inventory, with nature in support.
- 03Show the real product in place of mock-ups.
- 04Ask visitors to get started, because the product is ready.
- 05Take the team off the homepage, so the company reads as established.
- 06Keep the identity and evolve the page around it.
The website
One landing page, built for the buyer.
We wrote and designed the landing page for Webflow and made its web assets. Each audience gets its own line in the buyer’s terms. The process follows the forester’s day, from planning plots to collecting data on a normal cruise to analysis in the web app. One line carries the case, “Your forest management plan is only as good as the data that underlies it.”

Gaia kept its existing identity. The work lived in the words, the structure and the page design.
What changed
A page that starts with the buyer’s problem.
Gaia came away with a landing page written for forest managers and the foresters who work with them, with a clear route to getting started.
The forest manager’s problem now opens the page.
